May 20- Sea Day

May 20, 2011- Sea Day
Another mishap happened early this morning.  I checked the schedule last night to see when I had to report for the first event.  Normally sea days are pretty lax, and it gives the crew some time to chill and have some personal time.  When I checked the schedule last night the only event that I had before the shows was a comedy show at 8:30 pm.  So I didn’t really set my alarm because I didn’t have much to do.  What I forgot was that there is the Legends show rehearsal that happens on the last day of the cruise and they don’t necessarily put it on the schedule.  I woke up around 11:45 and took a nice long shower.  Luckily I was in my cabin when Tom knocked on the door and said that they were looking for me and I was late.  Shit.  I ran to the closet to put on my uniform and grabbed my key and ran straight to the booth hair still wet from the shower.  Luckily I was only a few minutes late and they were still giving the instructions when I first arrived.  I knew AMX would take a while to start the movers so I did that first before loading the shows in the MA.  Everything turned out OK as they were singing and doing their parts.  Honestly no one stood out on this cruise but they all were pretty bad.  I decided to make time useful and set up my confetti canons for the next cruise.  I really couldn’t bear to listen to them sing those songs again.  After the confetti canons were done I moved on to the laser computer.  Earlier this week the pc that controls the laser systems decided to crash.  It kept saying that it couldn’t find the boot files and I would need to install them from a disc.  That is a classic sign of a computer crash.  I couldn’t even get into the Bios screen to do any checks.  I was instructed from corporate to open the computer and check all of the connections to see if they were secure.  So I spent most of the time doing that while they were rehearsing.  Everything was fine with the computer so I emailed corporate back and hopefully they will be able to tell me what to do in a futile attempt to repair it.  Maybe they’ll let me send it off when we’re in Miami so corporate can fix it.  After rehearsal was finished I made my way down to the crew mess to grab something to eat.  I was pretty hungry because I didn’t have a lot of dinner last night so I was thrilled when I saw some delicious pasta in the mess.  After I gorged myself I headed back to my cabin to catch up on some entries.  This cruise went by pretty quickly and it’s hard to believe that we’ll be in Miami tomorrow morning.  I’m already starting to compile a list on what kinds of things I need to run out and get.
